Mladá Boleslav, 11 November 2011 – ŠKODA has been awarded for its exemplary employment policy for people with disabilities. In conjunction with the prize „The best full responsibility enterprises" conferred in the Czech Republic the car maker received the award in the category „Socially worthwhile project of the year 2011". The extensive steps ŠKODA takes to employ people with disabilities are appreciated. This year, the enterprise has already received the prize „Employer without barriers" for this engagement.

ŠKODA supports people with disabilities in the reintegration into working life in many ways. Altogether five workshops for more than 200 people with disabilities are chiefly involved. In close co-operation with the labour union OS KOVO the manufacturer creates with these facilities new employment perspectives for disabled people. The first facility of this kind was opened in 2006, the last in Mladá Boleslav about one year ago. There are still three other workshops, one facility is in the plant Kvasiny.

„Our engagement for physically impaired colleagues is for ŠKODA, as worldwide active car maker and largest private employer in the Czech Republic, a matter of course and part of our social responsibility", says Bohdan Wojnar, ŠKODA's board member responsible for the Human resources. „Corporate Social Responsibility is for daily living enterprise practice in the fair treatment of our about 26,000 co-workers. Our team is the basis of our success in recent years and in future. Every individual contributes to the success", says Wojnar.
