Mladá Boleslav, 28 November 2014 – The ŠKODA Museum is living up to its reputation as an interactive world of adventure – now even as a virtual on-line experience. The ŠKODA Museum is the first automotive museum in the Czech Republic to offer a virtual tour of the location via Google Street View. By taking a virtual tour, you can explore the exhibition in detail and even get behind the wheel of selected ŠKODA classics – any time and from anywhere in the world.

"Our museum, which was reopened two years ago after extensive reconstruction, illustrates the great history of the ŠKODA brand, and attracts visitors from all over the world. We are now offering this fantastic opportunity and expanding our services to make the exhibition accessible from around the world 24/7," says Andrea Frydlová, Director of the ŠKODA Museum.

Google Street View now offers everyone the chance to wander through the ŠKODA Museum from the comfort of home, to experience the industrial architecture of the exhibition halls and even to take a closer look at the legendary historic vehicles. With just a few mouse clicks, you can find yourself at the heart of the exhibition and experience the automotive gems for yourself.

The virtual tour also makes it possible to get behind the wheel of selected exhibits – for example, the first automobile ever produced by the Czech manufacturer, the Voiturette A designed by the founding fathers Laurin and Klement, and other legends such as the L&K-ŠKODA 110, ŠKODA 860, ŠKODA Superb 4000 and the ŠKODA 1101 'Tudor' Cabriolet. You can also 'get in' the ŠKODA Popular Sport 'Monte Carlo' and the ŠKODA 1000 MB. The experience also includes an in-depth walk-around the ŠKODA VisionD design study and the cockpits of the ŠKODA 130 RS and ŠKODA Fabia Super 2000 race cars.

At the end of 2012, the ŠKODA museum was reconceptualised and underwent extensive modernisation to become a multimedia showcase for the brand. In the historic halls on Václav Klement Street, you can take a journey through almost 120 years of corporate history in a diverse, interactive and multimedia experience. The ŠKODA Museum collection, spanning over 1800m2 currently displays around 340 exhibits, including passenger vehicles from series production, racing cars, prototypes, and also several dozen engines, four motorcycles and a bicycle. The virtual tour offers a taste of the experience, awaiting visitors of the ŠKODA Museum.

Google Street View also gives Internet users the chance to take a virtual look around the ŠKODA Customer Centre in Mladá Boleslav. The current model range can be seen in detail inside and out, including the brand's current bike collection and genuine accessories range. The ŠKODA Customer Centre underwent extensive modernisation in 2013.
